Through sport, we have the power to change lives
In Spartanburg, we have quarterly employee activities that incorporate sports. During March Madness we have basketball activities such as tournaments, and other fun. In the fall, we kickoff footbal season with flag football tournments and tailgating. In the Spring, we host a golf tournament for employess and their family & friends which benefit local charities. The sporting events allow our employees to take a break from work and have some fun. It relieves stress, allow the employees the time to take a mental break and re-focus and increases engagement. It also gives people the opportunity to network with their co-workers from across the company, people they would otherwise have very little contact with. And as we all know sport and physical activity lower stress level, increases mental clarity and increases engagement and productivity which is a benefit for all.
Careers without borders
We support and encourage our employees to explore career opportunities globally. We provide resources whenever possible to give our talent exposure, visibility and networking opportunities to move throughout the organization or cross functionally. Spartanburg has been the launching pad for many of our employees who started their careers in Spartanburg and moved on to other areas of the business in Portland or Germany, and field positions like sales. In short, plenty of opportunities for those who want it for growth both professionally and personally.
Sport needs a place
We give back by volunteering within the community. For example "Habitat for Humanity", "Boys and Girls Club" of the upstate, "Junior Achievement", and Spartanburg's Day of Service, just to name a few. We also participate in charitable events & fundraisers such as the "March of Dimes", "Relay for Life", "Komen", "Hope Center for Children" and local food shelters. Our Green Team works hard to keep our work environment and community clean with initiatives such as Earth Week, recycling events and "Adopt-a-Highway" trash pick up around the community in which we work and live.
The Future runs on fresh and diverse perspectives
We recruit talent from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Annually we celebrate our diversity on Diversity Day. It is a day full of events and activities with speakers, employees sharing their cultures and experiences (i.e.generational differences in the workplace, cultures, regional differences, becoming more knowledgeable about the LGBTQ community, etc.).
