Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Provide general legal services to adidas Group to support adidas Japan by independently supporting the Legal Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day legal matters of adidas Japan including counselling, contract review, draft and negotiation, structuring of transactions, legal risk assessment, and dispute avoidance without need of daily supervision
• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of contracts to protect the interests of the adidas Japan including service agreements and wholesale related agreements
• Provide support for business teams to ensure legal/compliance related matters are appropriately handled
• Provide support for quality control team/consumer service team including the handling of consumer product claim involved injury and product recall
• Act as the contact person for internal clients in legal matters
• Coordinate external lawyers
• Negotiate contracts and disputes with external 3rd parties
• Conduct educational programs and materials for client groups as appropriate in relevant legal areas.
• Provide support to ensure compliance-related matters are appropriately handled including all aspects of communication, education, and facilitation of compliance issues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent client relations skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese
• Strong background in general corporate, transactional and commercial law
• Ability to work independently and manage and prioritize substantial and diverse workload

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

• Law degree
• Several years of work experience within international company or in a law firm
• Corporate counsel experience in general corporate, transactional and commercial law
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required 
• Fluent in English
• Strong team player
• Very good MS Office skills
• International mindset through previous work experience abroad
