Senior Manager Brand Finance - Pricing (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Pricing has been identified by both – Brand and Finance leadership – as a powerful lever to not only improve consumer perception towards our aspired brand image, but also a way to skim additional margin opportunities on some products while driving total cash margin through a higher rate of sale on others. Co-driving a value-based pricing process that allows for a consistent price to value relationship will be the main task for the Senior Manager Finance – Pricing (f/m).

  • Drive the development of consumer-centric processes, analytical tools, Pricing advanced analytics and the implementation of the same into the regular planning process and its execution in the BUs, B&S Finance and the markets
  • Quantify financial benefits of value-based pricing implementation through impact assessments
  • Constantly seek for possibilities to simplify process and improve financial outcome

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partnering/Communication

  • Partner with Pricing Management team as well as Category Business Analysts in further roll-out and implementation of value-based pricing process & knowledge across additional product types, Categories and Markets
  • Seek alignment with Reebok Brand Finance team for transfer and implementation of process and framework into Reebok
  • Significantly contribute to horizontal alignment of value driver definition for product types across Categories to ensure consistent value communication to end-consumer
  • Lead medium- large sized projects and/or actively participate in projects from finance side
  • Ensure Value Based Pricing becomes a fundamental part of the Finance community – in particular Brand & Sales Finance departments  

Innovation

  • Support development of system solution (VBP system) into creation systems to classify value drivers and manage connection to Finance margin planning tools and systems
  • Create environment to systematically store, structure, analyze and evaluate value drivers and upcharges across product groups and markets

Analysis/Reporting

  • Own, maintain and develop value-based pricing tools. Ensure availability according to relevant adidas milestones and conduct regular quality checks
  • Conduct impact assessment to derive financial outcomes of value-based pricing roll-outs and implementations
  • Generate consumer insights through VBP algorithm and work with Advanced Analytics/Big Data teams to improve accuracy and effectiveness and ensure implementation into VBP process

Functional Expertise

  • Provide comprehensive expertise for assigned functional areas/systems and processes towards team and business partners

Required Skill Set

  • Excellent analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple sources
  • Very good statistical understanding to drive Pricing related advanced analytics as well as predictive use cases together with the Advanced Analytics Hub
  • Experience in pricing function with retailer or consumer facing industries (ideally with seasonal product cycles and a hybrid distribution system) preferred
  • Excellent communication skills for persuasion and convincing others
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and under pressure
  • Experience in project management
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally and understanding of external business drivers
  • Thorough understanding of available data and experience in setup of standard reporting solutions
  • Understanding and experience in Advanced Analytics concepts and knowledge in R desirable
  • University degree in Business Administration/Finance/ Controlling, Tertiary Commercial education or (marketing) analytics background
  • Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Function Expertise: 5-10 years of experience
