Purpose:  < <

Improve the consistency and effectiveness of SEA’s support to suppliers in social compliance monitoring, remediation plan and its execution.< Ensure that SEA has effective work plan which will drive suppliers to meet sustainability target and milestones.<  < Key Responsibilities: <  < < < Lead and managing the field operation team in China. Country coverage includes: China, Japan. Taiwan, Korea and the Philippines.< Develop and execute work plan for both monitoring and advisory activities:< < < Finalize the auditing plan to ensure efficient use of team resources< Supervising the alignment between the monitoring and advisory staffs under his/her region to ensure consistency and prompt decision making< Coordinate field team’s activities in providing advisory to factories when they develop remediation plan< Provide technical advice to factories to improve their management system in HR and Health and Safety Overseeing the progress tracking and follow up action (of remediation plan)  
  • Provide advisory to factories on SEA strategic initiatives such as worker empowerment and effective grievance system.<
  • Provide guidance and direction to field team in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the factory’s Corrective Action Plan, including randomly checking the report in FFC database.<
  • Provide guidance and support to the field team in resolving disputes or challenges from suppliers’ management team regarding remediation plan and adidas Workplace Standards< <

  • Work closely with Senior Manager Monitoring Assurance to maintain consistency and continuously improve the quality of SEA audit.<
  • Work closely with Director Project Development and Capacity Building in the development and execution of sustainability projects in the region and country. Accordingly provide guidance and direction to the field team in the execution of the program or project in supply the chain.<
  • Provide supports to Director Project Development and Capacity Building in the development of capacity building program for the suppliers and internal SEA team.<
  • Leading the troubleshooting and handling of high risk cases in the responsible countries. Provide feedback and recommendation to Senior Director Field Operation and other Senior Management team on the strategy and materials for public statement<
  • Leading the internal and external stakeholder engagement in the responsible countries. Acting as the SEA main contact for Sourcing management team in the country.<
  • Coordinating any visit from 3rd party or stakeholder to factory, such as NGO, media and government officials.<
  • Making final recommendation to Senior Director Field Operation on SEA Enforcement Action for suppliers.<  <  < Key Relationships:  < < <
  • LO Sourcing Directors and other relevant LO function in Asia.<
  • Supplier’s top management and their social compliance team.<
  • Business unit managers in licensing, agents and intermediaries, where applicable<
  • Legal Counsel or Senior Legal staff in Asia<
  • International and local NGOs and trade unions<
  • Government officials in the labour, social welfare, safety and environmental agencies in each of the countries within the region<
  • Other senior managers within SEA Global team.  Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiar with the Labour and Health & Safety Standards (Workplace Standards and local regulations)<
  • Familiar with adidas business operation, especially the sourcing activities in the region<
  • Able to write clearly and succinctly in English and to get messages across that have the desired effect<
  • Able to communicate effectively both inside and outside the organisation, on hard data and controversial topics and can commands attention and be impactful and influential<
  • Able to skilfully negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external groups. < < <
  • Able win concessions without damaging relationships and can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic, when required<  <  <  <  <  < Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:     <  < < <
  • Preferably Master degree with a major in either: Law, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management or Science, Human Resources, Business Management, or the Social Sciences<
  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate social responsibility or social/EHS compliance field<
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with a local language relevant to the region< <
