Shanghai | China (Peoples Republic of) | Design

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

To ensure appropriate Outdoor apparel ranges are designed for the adidas brand in Asia, as part of a regional design team, in cooperation with Global Marketing, Product Management and Product Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & develop products for the Asian Regional Apparel range, based upon input from product management, in order to supply the needs of the Asian market consumer.
  • Implement the seasonal direction of the category according to market trends as well as overall Design Direction and ensure consistency though products and ranges.
  • Visualize seasonal ideas for ranges and product concept.
  • Self-manage own creative process and execute towards given design languages within the category.
  • Execute design work according to the visual language of adidas as well as given Corporate Identity guidelines according to legal guidance.
  • Ensure all design works being delivered with a high degree of expertise within timeframes.
  • Ensure an efficient process and communication flow between design, marketing and development (within x- functional team) for all issues regarding your projects.
  • Ensure that all relevant information needed for the development process is submitted in a timely manner to Product Development and ensure that appropriate levels of interaction and communication are maintained with Product Development.
  • Collaborate with Product Management on all issues regarding the realization of defined collections.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Under-graduate level design education or combination thereof.
  • At least 3-5 years of practical experience in apparel design or similar design related areas.
  • Experience in outdoor outer wear design is a plus.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of functional product development, materials and trims.
  • High level of creativity.
  • Problem solving attitude & can-do personality.
  • Knowledge and use of design software. (Illustrator, PhotoShop)
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Passion for design.
