Lead the Procurement organization on a market level, including:

Define, commit and realize the market Procurement goals in alignment with the CPO and overall Procurement Performance and savings targets as well as with the business stakeholders.

Be responsible for implementing leading practice methods, processes, policies in the market and achieving compliance

Take over managerial responsibility for the market Procurement organization

Key Responsibilities

  • Derive and implement Procurement strategic goals on a market level from overall Procurement strategy
  • Deliver Annually agreed  Savings Targets for market
  • Regularly report and communicate market targets in alignment with global Procurement targets
  • Take a long-term approach of Procurement together with the CPO, ensuring market needs and specifics are captured
  • Lead, drive, and develop market teams: Develop and manage top specialized talent and capabilities in the market
  • Drive capability development in the market in regard to new capabilities, processes and technology standardization, leading practice sharing and talent development
  • Prioritize, initiate, and manage continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate impact assessment of changing requirements in the respective market, including legislation and policies
  • Work together with Senior Global Category Directors in positioning market specific procurement requirements on a global level
  • Manage the Procurement organization on a market level
  • Lead the Procurement organization on a market level in accordance with the adidas management principles to support the organization’s overall leadership focus on performance and talent management, values, management and (self-)management practices
  • Drive implementation of Procurement Leadership Team decisions on market and country level
  • Manage the quality of the end-to-end source-to-pay process including quality management and compliance to policies, strategies, and processes within the market
  • Manage the budget for Procurement within the respective market, overseeing their financial well-being by analyzing cost effectiveness and directing cost control activities; preparing, submitting, and justifying budget enhancement requests
  • Monitor and support successful execution and implementation of sourcing strategies including leading practices across the sourcing lifecycle, key stakeholder alignment and customer satisfaction in the market
  • Prioritize support requests, e.g. to meet global category objectives and communicate those transparently to stakeholders
  • Agree and monitor Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements between the Procurement market (incl. respective countries), the respective GBS service delivery and the business (or customer)
  • Develop, align and execute a yearly action plan to upgrade the Procurement Function
  • Develop and implement Market Procurement succession plan
  • Act as Point of Contact for market stakeholders and the market/ country management team
  • Manage relationships with market stakeholder and stakeholder satisfaction, acting as a business partner and representing Procurement in the market organization
  • Strive for alignment between Procurement category strategies, sourcing implementation and the market P&L delivery
  • Build and enhance key customer relationships to strive for customer satisfaction within the business and the countries
  • Support key sourcing initiatives and management of core suppliers
  • Review and advise category strategies for major market spend categories
  • Develop and lead partnerships with selected key strategic suppliers

  • CPO, other Market Senior Directors, CFO of respective market, Country Senior Managers, GBS service delivery, Market Category Managers
  • NAM FD, and all other Senior Business and functions heads

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert in sourcing and procurement methodologies, concepts and execution processes as well as supplier management
  • Expert in implementation of Shared Service Centers in the context of procurement
  • Expert in implementation of procure to pay tools and related processes
  • Extremely good knowledge of Procurement strategy development and conveyance
  • Proven track record of driving and successfully delivering a procurement transformation
  • Advanced knowledge of Procurement tools and data, content and automation
  • Strong ability to analyze specifications and influence demand
  • Expert in risk and compliance management
  • Extensive capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group
  • International experience and working in global and matrix organizations
  • Strong end to end Source to Pay process management knowledge and experience
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong Change Management experience
  • Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
  • Proficiency in MS Office, e-sourcing (Ariba), p2p tools (SRM/Ariba)
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Travel of up to 30%

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
  2. At least 10 to 15 years working experience in similar or adequate roles in procurement environment, with international organizations and strong people management elements
