Operations Manager IT

Purpose and overall relevance for the organization

  1. Own the overall IT service delivery for Taipei and Taichung liaison offices (LO)
  2. Maintain a stable IT operations environment under the framework of Global IT policies and directions
  3. Be the point of local contact for Global IT teams regarding global solutions implementation
  4. Gather and analyze local business requirements for IT systems and support of applications in accordance with business requirements
  5. Provide business users with IT advice, guidance and training as an IT Consultant
  6. Perform IT planning and prepare IT budget for maximizing global solutions’ benefits and enabling LO Business to achieve their goals
  7. Provide remote IT support to other LO countries’ whenever required

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform and monitor hardware and software installation in line with Global IT directions
  • Proactively maintain a stable infrastructure environment
  • Ensure a virus free environment
  • Ensure data and system security in line with Global IT directions
  • Define local system policies and procedures in line with Global IT directions
  • Ensure compliance with standards set in group/regional policies (software licenses, anti-virus program availability, configurations, IT asset list…)
  • Support IT or business of other LO countries or work on regional/global projects whenever required

Application Services

  • Provide support to LO and factory users for the adidas applications
  • Provide suggestions to improve the stability of the system, increase productivity and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee business application development and review work products of developers to ensure process and requirements compliance
  • Act as the backup for other LO countries globally whenever required

Business and User Support

  • Act as Level 2 support for the adidas Asia Pacific service desk
  • Define IT requirements, provide and manage cost-effective / fit-for-purpose IT solutions based on business requirements
  • Ensure operational effectiveness through standardization and leveraging of best practices
  • Organize regular user training on various adidas applications and software packages
  • Identify service components critical to the business that require additional preventive measures
  • Maintain high level of customer satisfaction

IT Management

  • Perform local IT planning based on business plans/requirements and Global IT initiatives
  • Evaluate and propose new hardware/software as needed
  • Prepare IT budget
  • Ensure proper asset management and all hardware is covered by proper maintenance agreements in a cost-effective way

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Solid hands-on experience in providing end-user support, including MS Windows and MS Office
  • Experience in providing business application support
  • Experience and knowledge in writing MS-Excel macro
  • Familiar with MS Windows server/LAN/WAN/IPT technologies
  • Knowledge in web application development preferred
  • Able to communicate complicated technical IT issues to English-speaking managers or users in laymen’s terms
  • Familiar with IT service management and project management concepts
  • Good command of both oral and written English

Experience and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Studies or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on IT support experience on infrastructure and in-house applications, with highly developed customer-focused skills
  • Minimum 3 year of work experience in working with global teams at different time zones with good international cultural awareness
  • Minimum 2 years experience in managing an IT environment for multinational companies

         with over 50 users

  • Experience in Supply Chain or Sourcing business process in FMCG industry an advantage
