Manage daily operation of Global Materials Quality Lab Team to ensure adidas material quality meets or exceeds global standards and customer expectations. Elevate materials testing and standards and drive continuous product and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure global material quality standards within the division are met according to the quality standards as set in the adidas Global Materials Quality Manual
  • Resolve and advise on all material quality issues and testing methods on a proactive basis to ensure timely approval of fabric developments on a global level
  • Advise and assist adidas Advance Creation Testing team in setting global standards & testing methods.  Ensure smooth launch and /or maintenance of new and existing standards and policy requirements
  • Advise testing groups on the necessary tests as defined in the materials quality manual (e.g. woven, knits, performance, sport style, clima requirements etc.) and analyze performance testing results
  • Ensure accurate and up to date organization, storage and maintenance of the master data (e.g. input from results into FlexPLM system for both physical & chemical testing results)
  • Communicate and distribute test results to fabric & MDI teams (and to Materials Sourcing teams, project manager & LO’s when required)
  • Approve new fabric developments when tests are passed successfully or evaluate tolerances and confirm limited release if necessary with relevant parties
  • Maintain close relationships with the adidas Advance Creation Testing team, the adidas Laboratory Accreditation Partner PPT and other nominated 3rd Lab Parties (ITS, SGS, STR & BV) on adidas test methods and on any new directions in testing technologies
  • Conduct trainings of adidas Testing Methods & Standards to internal adidas employees, Tier 1 / Tier 2 etc.
  • Assist in developing new milestones in strategic materials quality management targets (e.g. GASA Tier 2, Right First Time Performance)

 Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of performance fabrics and color fastness properties issues
  • Sound judgement of colour and physical test results
  • Profound understanding of quality assurance
  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written
  • Good IT skills

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Management or related field
  • Above 5 years working experience in different fields of quality & textile processing; working experience in a textile laboratory
  • Experience in sports performance apparel industry advantageous
  • People management experience will be a plus
