Manager, Assortment Planning (12 Month Contract)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Help build and execute Canadian Channel and Account product assortment plans for Performance Apparel/Accessories that delivers target growth and strengthens Brand Health KPIs working in close co-operation with the Sales Teams and BU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Business Unit lead to ensure the product vision and proposition within each channel to ensure brand and channel goals are met
  • Within all identified channels, execute and manage the optimum category/product assortment to deliver against the agreed targets

  • Contribute to driving sales and share growth, ensuring all commercial and strategic goals are met including at once opportunities with inventory to maintain appropriate provision levels
  • Manage the range proposition process from virtual download to sales launch including pre line process ensuring smooth account interaction process
  • Review regular analysis of sell-through performance of all facets to the relevant category teams and contribute to strategic planning based on that analysis
  • Understand the retail environment including distribution points, share of buy, competitor ranges and pricing strategies for strategic input into the Market Strategic Input (MSi)
  • Conduct relevant reporting activities to measure the efficiency and commercial success of the range season over season
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning team and SCM functions as appropriate
  • Work closely and develop relationships with the Global Product and CTC teams and provide feedback on the product range in order to maximize current or future seasonal opportunities
  • Work closely with sales and marketing to execute the account product strategy and roadmap
  • Develop specific Go-to-Market strategies including the creation of holistic brand packages with long term franchise management and scenario planning
  • Be a product expert which includes understanding the product from a technological and functional point of view and/or from a trend specific point of view
  • Communicate closely with the US and “like market” counterparts in order to establish synergies and efficiencies within the Canadian Range

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in Category Management or Merchandising/ Ranging/ SMU / Sales
  • Strong business acumen, ability to assume a broader perspective (cross-markets/ global)
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and under pressure
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office
  • Fluent in English

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in business preferred, ideally with marketing and sales focus or equivalent professional experience
  • Category Management/ Ranging/ Merchandising Experience or account marketing / sales: 3 years
