Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Lead and coordinate the Procurement organization on a country level:

  • Accountable for country target setting in alignment with global and market Procurement goals
  • Accountable to implement global / market sourcing agreements on country level
  • Drive Procurement’s value contribution and excellent service while ensuring compliance with policies, strategies and processes
  • Functional and managerial responsible for Procurement Specialists allocated to the country

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the Procurement organization on a country level

  • Manage and develop the country Procurement organization
  • Manage direct reports including target setting, performance review, and career and training development
  • Assess impact of locally changing requirements, including legislation and policies
  • Actively support roll-out of global and market wide Procurement development initiatives within the country
  • Support strong and robust procurement infrastructure aimed at optimizing transactional purchasing activities, aligned with market and global infrastructure
  • Develop and monitor the Procurement budget in the country in alignment with Market Senior Director Procurement
  • Support the country business customer in setting up their plans, budgets and strategies
  • Ensure execution of the yearly market action plan to improve the Procurement Function at country level, and monitor and control savings plan in the country

Ensure implementation of sourcing agreements on country level

  • Coordinate resource allocation to support global/ market initiatives, on a country level
  • Lead and support strategic sourcing activities within the specific country
  • Support global/ market category execution by leading contract implementation & driving contract compliance
  • Promote the use of global/ market contracts

Support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Highlight potential for catalogue and contract creation based on recurrent free text requests
  • Identify, support and implement other improvement initiatives, e.g. specification optimization

Manage supplier relationships on country level

  • In line with defined procurement strategy, support the classification and categorization of suppliers, including definition of supplier evaluation and audit policies
  • Continuously track supplier performance
  • Lead and support supplier development activities such as setting up cross-functional review meetings with suppliers

Manage internal customer relationships and satisfaction on country level

  • Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key internal customers and stakeholders
  • Manage internal customer feedback on procurement organization & supplier performance
  • Proactively organize sessions with internal customers to identify further TCO/ TVO reduction opportunities, in alignment with market and global category teams

  • Market Senior Directors Procurement, Country Manager Procurement, (Senior/Assistant) Procurement Specialists

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert in sourcing execution, as well as project management and planning
  • Good knowledge of procurement strategy development and conveyance
  • Proven knowledge in sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts
  • Advanced in analytics and the ability to analyze specifications and influence demand
  • Strong in risk and compliance management as well as supplier management
  • Very good capability to independently interact throughout the adidas group
  • Project and process management knowledge and experience
  • Strong analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
  • Minimum 8 -year total working experience, with at least 3 years working experience in similar or adequate roles in procurement environment, with international project and people management elements
