Director Brand Strategy

Purpose

The Director of Brand Strategy will manage and support creation of Strategic Business Plans for Business Units within the NAM market.  In addition, he/she will be responsible for managing and executing key projects that deliver tools and resources to support BU’s in throughout the GTM process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Excellence in implementation and execution of Global Brand Strategy
    • Long-term ambition of Brand for our consumer
    • Vision, mission, purpose of Brand
    • Measures of success (consumer driven and financial driven)
  • Lead creation and implementation of Strategic Business Plans for BU’s
    • Lead and manage process, timelines, and template for BU SBP’s
    • Deliver tools and resources to support improvement in strategic planning and GTM process
    • Collaboration with Director Wholesale Strategy, and Director DTC Strategy to drive alignment between BU and other channels
    • Create tools to track and measure against key KPI’s within SBP
    • Support BU’s and collaborate with Director Consumer Insights to embed insights into SBP and ensure business is putting the Consumer first with plans and GTM strategy
      • Support BU’s with market and consumer insights
  • Support Brand leadership in continuous improvement of key metrics through E2E process
    • Understand and influence the consumer / customer drivers in brand forecasts that may impact our supply chain and P&Ls
    • Create expert knowledge of categories, franchises, and consumers for key BU’s to support Franchise management
  • Support CTN initiatives and projects with close collaboration with Business Development peers and cross functional teams
  • Create expert knowledge of franchises within key BU’s and support Franchise Management initiatives  
  • Drive Implementation and responsibility for delivery of selected key initiatives
  • Collaborate with digital analytics, NPD, finance, to deliver tools for planning and business reviews
  • Attend key leadership meetings for Brand
    • Connect the dots across functions
    • Close collaboration with Business Development peers, with regular communication on projects and initiatives 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience creating and executing strategy based on data analytics and insights
  • Proven experience developing and executing short and long-term category strategies based on a thorough understanding of market conditions and trends
  • Excellent management and leadership skillset, with experience leading direct and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to think on a strategic and operational level at the same time
  • Extensive experience using internal / external data and insights to create profitable growth strategies
  • Inspire, coach and lead; set framework for performance and growth
  • Extensive knowledge of Sport/Style Industry including a vision of future opportunities and challenges
  • Expert knowledge of P&L including ROI, and financial modelling 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Lead change management

Minimum Qualifications

  1. University degree in business / marketing or equivalent experience
  2. Min. 7 years in CPG / FMCPG
  3. Proven track record in Marketing, Sales, or Trade Marketing function
