Senior Manager Wholesale Excellence (m/f)

Purpose:

The “Wholesale Excellence” department is the fundamental enabler and contributor to our Global Wholesale Strategy. Manage and drive x-functional Sales projects/ key initiatives and create and implement best-in-class processes, guidelines and tools to enable the Global and Market Sales teams to drive sustainable market share growth & profitability. Build strong and trustworthy relationships within the Global Wholesale Leadership team, across channels and departments and facilitate best-practice sharing to support achieving the company goals. Enable the markets to deliver brilliant sales service and best in class efficiency to our retailers and consumers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development, communication and execution of the Global Wholesale Strategy
  • Steer and coordinate x-functional Sales projects/ initiatives, process improvements, new tools and best-practice sharing in alignment with Global Wholesale Strategy and Priorities
  • Support Global Wholesale Leadership Team meeting and offsite organization, preparation, decision making and follow-up
  • Build a network acting as focal point for local markets, global functions and other key support functions to ensure identification of relevant projects and to drive efficiency
  • Contribute to the development of new strategic business opportunities in close cooperation with the Global Wholesale Leadership team
  • Provide and demonstrate expertise on key forums (e.g. Global WHS Leadership, Market Sales meetings, Global Sales sessions)
  • Maintain a constant and effective communication flow regarding status and consequences of projects and initiatives to main stakeholders; the (Senior)Directors Global Wholesale, the VP Global Wholesale and project related functions
  • Work independently and collaborate across multiple departments and channels
  • Implement standard project management approach and effective communication methodology
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members in terms of Project Management skills and key strategic initiatives
  • Mentor interns or Dual Student

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience:

  • Solid sales experience within the international sporting goods industry, FMCG and/ or consulting company
  • High degree of commercial and business acumen knowledge
  • Very good knowledge about Wholesale processes, KPIs and ability to influence others
  • Creative, open-minded individual
  • Flexible, reliable and agile team player able to work in both a group and individual atmosphere as well as in a volatile and ambiguous environment
  • Pragmatic approach with the ability to distinguish between the level of research needed to achieve the desired results
  • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, facilitation, negotiation)
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Proven methodological skills (e.g. project management and strategic development)
  • Broad and deep functional skills (e.g. Sales, Consulting, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, IT)
  • Mental flexibility, initiative and determination
  • Fluent in written and spoken English is a must. Skills and abilities in another language are a benefit

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in business, ideally with Sales/Marketing or Retail  focus
  2. Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in the sporting goods or comparable industry
  3. Cross-functional experience ideally with Marketing/ Finance/ Global Operations/ SCM
  4. Experience within different countries and/or different cultures
  5. Project Management: minimum 3 years
