Purpose / Mission:

  • To ensure profitable market share and net sales growth within Direct Sales Accounts in Market while respecting the image of the adidas Group brands
  • To passionately lead the Direct Sales organisation in identifying, developing and implementing strategies for the profitable growth of the adidas Group brands

Key tasks: (to be performed in alignment with global guidelines)

Functional:

  • To implement the Direct Sales  Excellence strategy
  • To ensure the best possible Net Sales result by setting clear targets and action points; constant tracking of results; analysis of risks & new business opportunities
  • To develop the overall strategy for the Direct Sales account portfolio based on Global and Market strategies jointly with the Senior Manager Sales Coordination as well as Sales Director and get sign off by the MD
  • To ensure the Direct Sales organization is applying available adidas Group standards and best practices in daily work
  • To support negotiation and enforcement of adidas Group trade terms
  • To establish an appropriate organizational framework for the Direct Sales organization jointly with the Senior Manager Sales Coordination  in line with the Global organizational blueprint
  • To work closely with all relevant Marketing and Sales functions, ensuring effective and efficient know-how transfer and communication towards the Direct Sales team and vice versa
  • To group Direct Sales customers, set objectives, strategies, tactics, allocate resources and ensure translation into action plans respecting the framework set by the customer portfolio strategies
  • To ensure execution of the Direct Sales CSS and track results
  • To staff most suitable persons in direct report positions in alignment with the Senior Manager Sales Coordination
  • To lead team and foster performance culture within his team
  • To develop, train and retain key talents
  • To manage all reports as an integrated team by setting team objectives, targets and guidelines
  • To ensure smooth cooperation of all direct reports along all interfaces
  • To measure progress on defined KPIs
  • To monitor all reports
  • To monitor and report on customers and competitors sell-through and activities, and propose/initiate/take actions  
  • To provide realistic plans and forecasts on customers performances
  • To ensure customer compliance with agreements

Personnel:

  • To staff most suitable persons in direct report positions in alignment with HR
  •  To provide on time coach and constructive feedback on team`s performance to help them meet target
  • To set personal objectives, targets, guidelines and assess all reports
  • To develop the functional and social skills of direct reports on and off the job
  • To manage all reports as an integrated team by setting team objectives, targets and guidelines

Controlling:

  • Monitor all relevant reports
  • Monitor and report on customers and competitors activities and propose/initiate/take actions  
  • Provide realistic plans and forecasts on customer performance
  • Ensure customer compliance with agreements

KPIs:

  • Total net sales development according to budget
  • Total net sales development according to budget
  • Adherence to sales working budget

Educational background:

  • University degree in business with marketing and sales focus
  • Understanding of retail, apparel & footwear product, and basic finance, supply chain, and IT

Professional background:

  • Functional: > 7  years in sales, ideally with Sales focus
  • Industry: ideally in apparel/fashion/shoes or FMCG
  • Leadership: 3 years experiences Exposure: Sports
