Sales Manager - East and Central China

Shanghai | China (Peoples Republic of) | Sales


  • Support the development of the optimal distribution development strategy for East and Central China as a whole. Directly establish processes towards the satisfactory development of the wholesale and retail distribution network in your region.
  • Manage and monitor business processes for complete account management. Drive the development of high quality retail operations (product knowledge, merchandising, POS and promotion). Deliver business results that meet the company financial goals while responsibly building the brand in the market.
  • Develop the best sales organization to meet business development needs.
  • Ensure short term goals are met and long term vision is developed with the best interest of the brand in mind.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop effective strategies to reach defined goals, ie Account / Door growth, Sales targets, Margins (customer, product category, overall),
  • Develop geographic, account and retail development plans that reflect distribution development and sales strategies and provide analysis based on defined KPIs
  • Develop sales/retail marketing and operations coordinated plans to achieve the best POS productivity and consumer satisfaction
  • Provide the monthly rolling sales forecast and POS opening/upgrade/closure regional plan base


  • Manage customer/geography/channel development and sales/retail activities in assigned region in accordance with defined business plans
  • Manage sales and retail execution and secure high quality implementation at the regional level
  • Develop strong business relationships with the senior management of major accounts in East and Central
  • Coordinate the retail trade marketing and visual merchandising implementation plans
  • Coordinate the retail operations support to his/her regional accounts
  • Provide proper guidance to the team in daily job
  • Ensure all company business processes and policies are well conducted


  • Maintain responsibility for overall sales and retail performance across the region
  • Manage A/R on healthy track
  • Control T&E and other relevant Overheads budget for the Region
  • Ensure the accuracy of all financial information required by the company

System and Processes

  • Support development of key business processes for TMaG China (selling processes, POS opening/closure/upgrade, forecasting and financial information process) and manages implementation and adherence
  • Develop the proper platform to collect and utilize timely market intelligence, such as market trends, competitive environment, retail inventory levels and other information required for the retail database

HR Management

  • Develop proper HR plans in coordination with the HR Department to better meet the business development needs
  • Set performance plans and review with all direct reports
  • Provide supervision, leadership, coaching and feedback to the direct reports, insisting on integrity and openness
  • Generate a high level of teamwork spirit across the organization

Training and Development

  • Support the development and implementation of proper training courses internally and externally based on the training needs
  • Ensure all team members well understand their job roles and responsibilities and provide proper guidance to secure top performance from the team


Overall sales performance (sell-in target achievement, account receivables conditions, etc);

Distribution development goals, ie business plans, key strategic partner contracts, account / door openings;

Ensures demand plan and inventory is aligned with sales plan for optimum inventory turns

Experience / Skills Required


  • Strategic planning and overall management skill

  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in sales management for a leading consumer goods companies
  • Golf or sports industry experience is preferred

Educational Background

  • Bachelor degree required and advanced degree in business or related fields preferred

PC/Language/Other Skills

  • Native-level Mandarin and fluent English required
